Pamela Beckvagni is the Environmental and Sustainability Waste Management Coordinator at UMass Lowell. A lifelong resident of New England with a passion for purpose. Pamela is a change agent who has dedicated her career as a leader striving to make a difference in the world and working with the “underdogs.” She has over 25 years of program leadership, implementation and assessment in the areas of alternative education, vocational services, environmental and waste management and higher education.
In August 2016, she began her career at UMass Lowell in the Office of Transportation. An opportunity arose and she was hired as part of the Environmental Health and Safety Team. About a year later she joined the Office of Sustainability. Pamela is currently planning and coordinating a variety of educational programs, services and projects around waste minimization, reuse and recycling, as well as leading a student team on multiple sustainability programs including Convocation, Move In and Move Out, Spring and Fall Into Recycling.
Outside of work, Pamela enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, her pets and being active. To date; she has completed three full Ironman races, two marathons and summited Mt Kilimanjaro. She is always looking for the next great adventure!
