Mathew Barlow

Dr. Mathew Barlow’s research is on the influence of large-scale climate variability and change on local conditions of importance to society. Particular focus areas are drought in different regions of the world, especially the Middle East and Southwest Asia, and on extreme precipitation and temperature events in the Northeast US.  He has published more than 50 papers on climate-related subjects with support from NSF, NOAA, and NASA, and is an editor for the Journal of Climate and a Lead Author for the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.
